Woodfern Holdings is a family-owned real estate and hospitality company, personally furnished and designed by an interior designer who believes temporary housing should still feel like home. We live nearby, so when our guests need something, help is minutes away — not a call center away.

Our Story

What We Believe

A woman with blonde hair in a beige sweater and blue jeans sitting on a chair in front of a beige cabinet, with one foot on a wicker footstool and the other resting on the floor. She is smiling and looking at the camera.

Hey, I’m Carmen…

…the founder of Woodfern Holdings, a family-owned real estate investment and hospitality company focused on creating beautiful, thoughtfully designed homes where guests can feel comfortable, cared for, and genuinely at home.

My professional journey began with a master’s degree in accounting, followed by several years working as an auditor at KPMG. That experience gave me a strong foundation in financial analysis, disciplined decision-making, and attention to detail—skills that continue to shape how I evaluate investments and operate Woodfern Holdings today.

But accounting was not actually where my story began. I originally went to school for interior design before switching my major and ultimately becoming a CPA.

Growing up with parents who were business owners and serial entrepreneurs, creating and operating businesses always felt natural to me. My husband and I eventually ventured into real estate and short-term rentals, where I discovered the perfect combination of everything I enjoy: finding properties with potential, making thoughtful investments, and — as an interior designer — creating beautiful, functional spaces that solve problems and make guests feel genuinely welcomed.

Woodfern Holdings grew from that passion — and from the belief that temporary housing should never have to feel temporary. Every home we offer is personally designed by an interior designer, down to the smallest detail.

Today, we provide beautiful, fully furnished homes for families, professionals, work teams, and travelers throughout the Greensboro, High Point, and Jamestown area. Our homes are especially well suited for corporate assignments, relocations, extended stays, and families displaced by fire, water damage, mold remediation, storms, or major home repairs.

We understand that many of our guests are not simply taking a vacation. They may be beginning a new job, completing an extended work assignment, relocating to the area, or navigating an unexpected disruption at home. During those moments, having the right place to stay can make an enormous difference.

Rather than separating families or teams into multiple hotel rooms, our homes provide the space to stay together, prepare meals in an overly stocked kitchen, do laundry, maintain familiar routines, and enjoy both privacy and connection. We want every property to offer the comfort and stability of a real home — not simply a place to sleep.

I'm also a self-proclaimed foodie, and it shows. Every kitchen is stocked well beyond the basics — real chef's knives, quality cookware, and everything you actually need to cook a meal, not just reheat one. It's a small detail, but it's one our guests mention again and again.

Beyond my professional pursuits, I am a proud mother of two and share my life with a hardworking, entrepreneurial husband. As a family, we understand the importance of having a comfortable place to gather, share meals, maintain routines, and simply feel settled. That perspective influences every home we create and the care we extend to every guest.

At Woodfern Holdings, we are building more than a collection of furnished rentals. We are creating thoughtfully designed homes that bring families and teams together and provide comfort, privacy, and peace of mind during the moments they need it most.
